Online Shopping on Web 2.0 - woot.com

Woot is an Internet commerce company based in the Dallas  and was Shop online with great discountsfounded by electronics wholesaler Matt Rutledge. Woot.com offers a unique online service which allows online shopping with a twist. Woot.com is an online store and community that focuses on selling technology related stuff.

This unique service sells one item per day until it is sold out or until 11:59 PM central time (US) when it is replaced. All the items are in stock and are delivered in 2-3 business days. A new product is released every morning at 12AM central seven days a week. If a product sells out during its run, a new item will not appear until the next release time. Once a product is taken off the listing it cannot be bought even though the product might be in stock. The fun is that you never come to know the amount in stock of a particular item. Shipping is a flat rate of $5.00 per order, regardless of quantity of items purchased, size and weight of purchase, or shipping destination.

Another interesting experience that a buyer might get is that “I want one” button which one has to click to buy the product, keeps bouncing around and might be difficult to click. This behavior means that the product is about to be sold off. Every Tuesday Woot has offered two-packs of products every Tuesday. Woot also offers Photoshop contests every weekend, with cash prizes going to the top 3 entries.

There are some great products on woot and with more than 500,000 registered users which speaks about the popularity of the service.
