Amberjack is a light weight open source project to out up quick tours of your website without needing any programming knowledge. It has a very good interface which is simple to understand. Basically you provide the URLs you want to include in your tour, select a skin for your narrative boxes and determine what all the button text and links will be for the interface. The tour wizard then provides a code snippet that you place in the template of your website and code for a button to launch the tour. If you are a CSS geek then you can further tweak your presentation and make it unique.

An example of a tour of about Copy+, a FREEWARE designed to copy hard drives from Sky+/XTV set-top boxes is here. No doubt that every website might not need a tour but then some websites of developers of web applications, services, manufacturers, etc would find this tool helpful and interesting because it’s fast and simple. It’s open source, under a GPL license now but Germany based developer Arash Yalpani says he will be switching to LGPL after discussion with initial users so if you want to build a presentation then do it now!

The tool can be improved but none the less the tool is handy and it can be used imaginatively by developers of new tools on the web and new software developers as it does not take much time to develop a presentation and it has been proved that presentations are understood better by humans than any other system of information download.
