Photosharing on web 2.0 - Yourep

Just when you thought photo sharing couldn’t get any better, along came YouRep. YouREP offers a service that is used to store and organize photos.YouRep allows you to tag your photos or through other people’s shots. But its interface is arguably easier to use, and special features like photos on a map are easier to find. Most importantly, it provides two gigabytes of free storage space and gives you a share of the revenue made from ads placed on pages with your photos. However, Flickr’s aspect feel isn’t here yet, but YouRep is still new and is in Beta so things are going to get better. Given the amount of progress the team has been making I will not be surprised if YouRep would give stiff competition to FLckr. There is a background to it. Most users want to show off their photos to other people and have them commented.

YouREP offers their storage space for photos. Signing up for the 2.0 services is easy and takes about 20 seconds to signup for YouRep. Everything from family photos to professional photography is highly welcome. There is no limit to the size of an , so go ahead and upload your 10 mega pixel photos. Comics, paintings and any computer art is accepted too. You must be the creator of the images you upload or at least have the right to distribute them.

Free accounts get 2GB (2048MB) of free storage space. 25% (0.5GB) of these 2GB may be used for pictures marked as private or friends only. It is mentioned at the website that the service would migrate to new servers in the next 7 days I’m sure there are a lot of things to come. Anyway, I do like competition, so even if it is clone of Flickr at least it will not let people at Flickr be complacent.
